Bratwursthäusle bei St. Sebald
The original Nuremberg Rostbratwursts have been grilled on beechwood fire in the shadow of the Sebaldus Church since 1313. The Bratwursthäusle continues its historic tradition of operating a butchery on site and makes its own fresh Nuremberg Bratwursts every day.
The delicious barbecue smell draws guests to the restaurant. In the center of the Bratwursthäusle, the small “Wöschdla” sausages are grilled by hand on an open beechwood fire from morning to night. Instead of using gas or charcoal, the fire from beech logs stored for at least three years gives the bratwursts their special flavor. Just like Albrecht Dürer, guests are served the small Nuremberg Rostbratwursts on tin plates.
In nice weather, the two terraces with views of the St. Sebald Church, city hall and Hauptmarkt invite guests to linger.
